I once read about a traditional rite. It actually a process of selecting the King of that Clan…it involved balancing a cup of potion on the head, while the participants walk through the longest and most hostile street-terrain in the land without spilling the cup of potion.

This process is such that anyone can participate. So families prepare their sons from childhood to participate in this process. Prefix to say that participant who spills the content of the cup dies. So it such a monumental and emotional period in the land.

However for over Five generation of ruler spanning over 200 years. It was observed that there is this humble family that produces successive kings through the same process.

When asked what their secret is they said “Our fore-father taught us how to be deaf, deaf to the cheers of praisers, deaf to the boos of critics…until we get to the finish line” . That’s the power of focus!

You can never win a race by waving your hands to the crowd, neither will your journey be accident free if all you do is to focus on the hind mirror rather than the road! Your song of victory will only be heard in your dream if all you focus your mind on is the criticism of the people! If it were to be easy they should have taken the road you are walking now!

One of my favourite speaker Tony Robbins Said this on Focus;
“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular”
